Create Your Music in a Professional Setting

We want to give you the best tools to create music, and one of our greatest assets is the space in which we get to work. Our workshop will be held on campus at the University of Nevada, Reno, where you will have access to beautiful rehearsal halls, a state-of-the-art Electroacoustic Music Lab, private practice rooms, and the beautiful Harlan O. & Barbara R. Hall Recital Hall.

The Electroacoustic Music Lab at the University of Nevada will be open for participant use.

Hear Your Work Performed Live

The only way to know for sure if what you wrote sounds the same as you imagined it is by hearing it performed by live musicians! On the final day of our workshop, you will have your music performed by string and piano musicians who are active professionals in the Reno area.

Participants will hear their music performed live by professional musicians in Hall Recital Hall.

What will I be learning?

Our intensive three-day schedule is aimed at preparing you to write music to be enjoyed live by your friends and family. Our teaching team will be working with you throughout the workshop to get your best ideas in front of our ensemble! Sessions will focus on:

  • using the music you love to find your compositional voice

  • learning the fundamental tools of writing music, such as form and harmony

  • private and small group sessions so that you get one-on-one feedback and attention
