Reno Modern Brass

The Reno Modern Brass, formed in 2018, is made of professional musicians from the Reno area. This ensemble is committed to performing new music, with special emphasis on local and regional composers. Since its debut concert in the fall of 2018, the Reno Modern Brass has commissioned and premiered seven new works for brass quintet. Additionally, they present works by composers of national prestige, sharing a new flavor of brass quintet music with the audiences of Reno.

The ensemble performs in a wide variety of genres, and are equally at home playing difficult modern compositions, and arrangements of jazz standards and popular music. The Reno Modern Brass gives equal representation to pieces that fall into the classical music category, as well as the popular music genres.
